My name is Renée Mazurek. First and foremost, I am a mother, wife, and friend. I am educated as a geologist and have both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Science. I have nearly 20 years of experience in earth science, translating complex topics into relatable materials.
I live Asheville, NC where I enjoy to be outside in the mountains, near the water, and in our garden. I also have a meditation and journaling practice that serves both my personal and professional lives.

I draw on a strong background of scientific research and fieldwork-based studies as well as a solid foundation in writing, presentation, and a variety of computer skills. I have over ten years experience teaching geology and environmental science to adults. I also have eight years experience with a national nonprofit, facilitating collaborative groups, writing impact stories, creating story maps, and developing website content to share the impact of environmental projects.
In all of my professional roles, I have been committed to increasing public awareness about earth processes and natural resources; and, I am passionate about storytelling that promotes not only the positive impacts of environmental projects but also our mental well-being.
I’d love to get to know you and your work – and to talk about ways in which I can support you with your storytelling and training needs.
