Back to my Education Roots

In one of my most recent contracted projects, I was able to go back to my roots as an educator. My job was to create an online training series. This particular project was done in Ruzuku. I have also created online classrooms in Blackboard, Moodle, and more.

The course that I created at the end of last year (2025) is called Community Solutions for Green Gentrification and Displacement Self-Paced Training Series. It is based on a River Network toolkit of the same name; and it will be used by network members to learn and grow with their communities. See some examples from within the course below.

The screenshots show that the course includes several modules, and within each module, there are up to 8 sessions for deeper learning. The sessions all include background text (with an audio recording) and resources for further learning. Some sessions have activities, with worksheets to work through individually or as a group. These activities also include a video recording to help participants work through the exercises.

See the video for a screen recording of the “Setting your Intention” session in the course.

I enjoyed setting up these modules and drawing on my background in education and resource creation. I also really love recording audio transcripts and video presentations! (Did you know that about me? Here is a shot from recording day!)

I’ve got some more projects and outreach coming up in 2026. Stay tuned! ~Renée
